Our mission

We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting grassroots projects in Haiti which address today’s urgent problems by building upon Haiti’s rich cultural traditions. In place of the failed model of outsiders coming in with "solutions", we employ our extensive experience living and working in Haiti to identify, vet and fund Haitian-led initiatives which are already working to provide ecologically sustainable livelihoods, to improve the lives of women and girls, and to ensure that all children have access to the necessities of life. We run a lean central nervous system for a growing organism of doers, taking on the burden of financial oversight and legal affairs, so our partners can just concentrate on providing services.

Haiti is an economically poor country

with rich cultural traditions.

Efforts to provide ecologically sustainable livelihoods, to improve the lives of women and girls, to ensure that all children have access to the necessities of life, cannot succeed unless they mobilize Haiti's cultural capital and build upon its existing traditions.

These traditions are often threatened by the onrush of globalization, but there are always grassroots Haitian-led organizations willing to fight to preserve them.

These organizations, however, are often completely disconnected from the international networks that would allow them to access funding from the global community.

That’s where we come in.

We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization that identifies, vets and funds grassroots initiatives spearheaded by local Haitian leaders. We then provide accountability and support to ensure that donor dollars have maximum impact creating jobs, strengthening communities, and sustaining hope for the next generation.

Collectively we have many decades of experience living and working within these communities in Haiti. Our personal experience, which allows us to connect these local initiatives to the global community, is the value we add.

This year we’ve partnered with three grassroots, Haitian-led projects which we think are worthy of your support:

Women's Empowerment Project

Creative Coding Project

Food Forest Project
